Environmental Policy
Pendle Doors Limited mainly offer and manufacture timber based products. The timber & products being utilised are sourced worldwide. The company is committed to sourcing all timber and associated products from legal sources, where, our suppliers assure us they only use materials where a sustainable yield management policy is adhered to, and where they have good conservation & re-generation policies, all in accordance, & within the realms of the laws of their country.
As part of our commitment, we try to reduce waste by maximising the use of the raw material in the construction of our products. This includes purchasing specific lengths and widths to suit our production techniques, and ‘reclaiming’ any off-cuts for use in other aspects of the production process, including bead and glazing bar production. This keeps waste to a minimum, along with purchased product being supplied to specific requirement, again with little waste.
We also try to utilise other timber substitutes where the application allows. Products such as, Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) is utilised wherever possible. This is only applied where product performance is either not affected or in fact enhanced by its’ inclusion, & does not jeopardise the appearance of our products.
Also included in our policy is the use of water based products wherever possible in the finishing & priming of product. These are used against solvent based products. This is applied only where the specification dictates, and wherever we may be able to educate end users in the new technologies of water based and acrylic based paint products.
Our customers and end users can be assured that Pendles Doors Limited does everything in it’s’ powers to ensure a constant level of commitment to its’ environmental policy. This includes a high level emphasis on all employees involved with purchasing timber and associated products, being actively encouraged to act in accordance with this policy, and these employees are given appropriate education/training whenever needed, to keep them updated with any environmental issues relating to the timber and joinery industry.
